A prep chef is responsible for setting the kitchen up for success by completing essential ingredient preparation before and during service. Their duties include washing, chopping, slicing, portioning, and labeling ingredients; preparing stocks, sauces, and basic components according to recipes; and organizing mise en place for the line cooks and chefs. They maintain a clean, sanitized, and efficient workspace, rotate and store ingredients properly, and monitor freshness to ensure quality. Prep chefs also assist with receiving deliveries, restocking stations, and supporting the kitchen team during busy periods. Throughout each shift, they work with consistency, attention to detail, and clear communication to help ensure Char Stone House delivers a smooth, high-quality culinary experience. 20-35 hrs per week.
