Job Summary
The Material Handler operates a forklift efficiently around the production warehouse and in and out of semi-trucks. Reviews daily schedule of production work orders and stages all required raw materials for operators. Maintains an organized warehouse storage system.
Essential Functions
- Adheres to WMC’s quality management system.
- Inspects product load for accuracy and safely moves it around the warehouse to ensure timely and complete delivery.
- Sorts product before loading and unloading.
- Maintains an organized warehouse storage system.
- Manually or mechanically loads or unloads materials from pallets or other transport vehicles.
- Secures material or products for transport to designated areas.
- Works closely with BDB employees to maintain the required inventory levels at Moore Street as stated by SCM.
- Reviews daily schedule of production work orders and stages all required raw materials.
- Moves controls to drive propane-powered trucks and transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.
- Installs protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
- Safety Requirements: Understand and follow all WMC Health & Safety Practices. Report all injuries and unsafe work conditions. Attend mandatory safety training and request additional training as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- At least 1 year of forklift.
Work Environment
- Plant/manufacturing facility. Not completely temperature controlled.
First Shift Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Third Shift Schedule: Sunday through Thursday, 10:45 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
