Overview
The Material Handler is responsible for moving, storing, and managing materials and products within the production facility. This position involves loading and unloading materials, organizing inventory, and ensuring the efficient flow of materials to support production processes.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities
Coordinates material movement between departments per routing requirements.
Sorts questionable materials per Quality Control's request.
Prints anddistributespick tickets and performs computer transactions as necessary.
Organizessequenceof pulling material and relays information to Material Support.
Ensuresproduction schedules are met by timely and accurate processing and movement of goods. Assists during daily peak times to include operating material handling equipment and perform all necessary computer transactions.
Ensures good communication and feedback with management, employees on their shift,and between shifts.
When assigned,assiststhe supervisor/area manager with Continuous Improvement Projects, evaluation of new equipment, determination of training needs and interviewing/hiring.
Monitors andenforcesshop floor control systems.
Follows all safety procedures, wears properPPE. Proactively identifies and corrects unsafe conditions.
Studies systems and procedures for opportunities for improvement. Proposes changes to Materials Manager.
Other duties as assigned.

Basic math and computer skills.
Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience Requirements
Oneyear of relevant experience and/or training preferred.
ForkliftCertificationa plus.
Physical DemandsandWork Environment
Some physicaldemand,often lifts light to heavy-weight material. Frequent lifting/moving average weight (up to 50lbs/11-27 kgs) material.
Ability to performoccasionalto frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8-12 hours).
