MANAGER PATIENT CARE SERVICES - OB
Responsible for overseeing the daily operation of assigned unit(s) to ensure high-quality, compassionate, and efficient patient care. Responsible for leading and developing staff, managing budgets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Maintains operational responsibility for nursing and health care services on the unit.
- Promotes positive customer relations with physicians, patients, families, visitors, and employees. Follows up on complaints and provides feedback. Monitors the level of patient, staff, and physician satisfaction.
- Promotes collaboration regarding patient care issues with various staff levels and disciplines.
- In collaboration with other members of the leadership team and the Education Staff, ensure staff participation in orientation, mandatory and continuing education programs, and other staff development opportunities.
- Plans unit conferences, educational endeavors, and in-service meetings for staff.
- Ensures quality and appropriateness of care is maintained/monitored, and relevant action plans are developed and implemented.
- Utilizes objective measurement tools to evaluate the quality of nursing care delivered to patients served.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing with a minimum of 3 years of nursing-related experience
OR an associate’s degree with 5 years of nursing-related experience
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice nursing in Michigan
- BLS Certification
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a related program
- A minimum of 2 years’ leadership experience
- ACLS Certification
