Position Summary
The CDL Class B Driver is responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles throughout the Greater Lansing area while providing reliable service and maintaining a strong commitment to safety. Drivers work closely with route partners and operations staff to ensure daily assignments are completed efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
• Safely operate CDL Class B commercial vehicles in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies
• Complete assigned local routes and service schedules in a timely manner
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Utilize tablets and electronic route management systems throughout the workday
• Accurately complete required documentation and reports
• Assist with loading, unloading, and handling materials as needed
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, team members, and customers
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions while adhering to safety procedures
Schedule
• Full-time, Monday through Friday
• Occasional Saturday work available
• Early morning start times ranging from 2:30 AM to 6:30 AM
• Overtime opportunities available
Qualifications
• Valid CDL Class B License with Air Brake Endorsement
• Current DOT Medical Card
• Safe driving record and commitment to workplace safety
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and repetitive movement throughout the shift
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions year-round
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings, including background check, physical, and drug testing requirements
• Strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and positive attitude
