The Position
Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Pom Coach is responsible for high quality programs, customer service and participant engagement. This individual must maintain high personal standards, adhere to, and carry out the mission of the Greater Midland Community Center.
Major Job Responsibilities
? Be an excellent Role Model for Middle School Students.
? Supervise student athletes to promote effective student learning through participation in athletic activities.
? Administer a sports specific warm-up and routine pertinent to taught discipline.
? Assume responsibility for all phases of practice.
? Communicate effectively, positively and professionally with athletes, parents, officials and school administrators.
? Complete, in a timely manner, all requests from supervisor in the achievements of departments and center goals and objectives.
? Participate in and orchestrate fundraisers.
? Maintain order and structure during practices while creating a fun experience for participants.
? Maintain open communication with Program Manager.
? Must be present for games where students performing.
? Consistently demonstrate leadership behaviors aligned with Greater Midland’s Values.
Qualifications
? Minimum age of 18
? Cheer / Pom experience: 4 years
? CPR/First Aid/AED
? Excellent people skills; ability to work with a wide variety of personalities
? Strong verbal and written communication skills
Physical Requirements
Coaches should be able to stand for the duration of practice. The ability to spot for tumbling exercises is necessary to ensure safety of our students. Should have the ability to demonstrate certain pom or cheer specific moves for instructional purposes.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, afternoon
