Position Summary
Position Summary:
To supervise the maintenance activity through the implementation of a preventive maintenance program and an ongoing maintenance repair program for the facility, production maintenance and process equipment.
Scope/ Supervision and Interaction:
Reports to the Plant Manager. Hourly machine maintenance employees will report to this position. Coordinates work with all service and production departments.
Essential Functions:
Supervise maintenance staff
Maintenance of building, machinery and grounds and procurement of necessary materials
Responsible for environmental, health and safety for the facility
Install electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, controls, outlets, fixtures, motors and other such equipment
Test, maintain and evaluate equipment performance using instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers and pressure gauges
Test and calibrate pneumatic HVAC controls
Perform skilled maintenance activities including construction, welding, brazing, soldering and plumbing
Check and repair pumps, fans, valves and motors
Adjust, repair and replace electrical and electronic pneumatic relays
Prepare accurate records for preventive maintenance
Perform related work as required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experiencing which has provided both theoretical and practice knowledge in the field.
5 years related maintenance experience
3 to 5 years supervisory experience
Familiarity with boilers, air compressors, heating and air conditions, plumbing, welding, carpentry, electrical/electronic equipment, pneumatics, hydraulics and heavy manufacturing equipment
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades involved
Skill in the care and use of tools and equipment used in the trades involved
Ability to detect defects in equipment and to make proper repairs or adjustments
Ability to interpret and work from pencil sketches and diagrams
