PRIMARY JOB DUTIES/OBJECTIVES:
· Retention and growth of existing book of business through client visit, coverage reviews, carrier negotiation, re-marketing as necessary. Team work with assigned customer service representatives is expected.
· Rounding out/cross selling existing clients with life insurance and other applicable commercial lines. Some of this may involve referral to other departments.
· Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within your assigned territory for commercial insurance
· Representing the agency at various events including, but not limited to, trade shows, annual conventions, company functions, and various other functions.
SKILLS/EDUCATION REQUIRED:
· Prefer bachelor's degree in business or a related field. Willing to consider lower levels of education, depending on candidate's skill set and experience.
· 3+ years sales experience
· Basic knowledge of logging, trucking, sawmill, pallet, and other wood products manufacturing businesses preferred, but not required.
· Possess one of the following: Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota P&C Producer license
· Must possess a valid driver license with acceptable MVR
· Familiarity and basic working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel is required.
· Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with team members, customers, prospective customers, and carriers is essential.
· Experience/formal education within commercial insurance and specifically blue collar industries is preferred.
· Travel is required.
· Work Remotely - Must live in Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, or Minnesota as there will be occasional required visits to assigned office in Niagara, WI or home office in Newberry, MI.
