This position is in our Battle Creek office and will be supporting programming for multiple focus areas.
Compensation: $14.00 per hour
Job Duties:
Assist with clerical duties as assigned, including
• Greet and assist visitors at the center
• When necessary, connect visitors with the appropriate staff member(s)
• Answer phones, and other communications, and forward to appropriate staff
• Assist with event planning
• Draft content for GVSU Battle Creek social media pages and website
• Communicate with Battle Creek partners, and assist with coordination of meetings
• Assist with OMNI recruitment efforts and tabling events
• Prepare materials for meetings
• Assemble programmatic materials
• Receive and organize deliveries, shipments, and incoming/outgoing mail
• Maintain center inventory
• Maintain center appearance and standards
• Assist with the creation of educational outreach resources and materials
• Other related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
• Highschool diploma required
• Strong organizational skills
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and basic computer skills
• Ability to work independently
• Customer service experience is preferred, but not required
• Punctual, dependable, and flexible
• Familiarity or willingness to learn Adobe (or comparable software for graphic design assignments)
Student workers at the GVSU Battle Creek will represent the university with a welcoming and positive demeanor toward all guests. You will need to be self-driven and willing to assist as needed.
