Material Handling Supervisor
Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Pay: $37.94/hour
We are seeking an experienced Material Handling Supervisor to lead warehouse operations, inventory control, and material flow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for team leadership, safety compliance, and operational efficiency to support production and shipping goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, train, and supervise a team of material handlers and equipment operators
Coordinate receiving, storage, and delivery of materials to production and shipping
Manage daily schedules, task assignments, and performance
Oversee cycle counts, audits, and inventory accuracy using WMS/ERP systems
Enforce OSHA safety standards and conduct safety inspections and meetings
Identify process gaps and drive Lean / continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure proper maintenance of forklifts and material handling equipment
Partner with production, procurement, and quality teams to resolve issues
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
3-5+ years of warehouse or material handling experience
2+ years of supervisory or team lead experience
Experience working in a union environment preferred
Strong knowledge of inventory systems (WMS/ERP) and Microsoft Office
Proven leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to work any shift, including weekends and rotating schedules
Preferred:
Experience in automotive manufacturing (body shop, stamping, assembly)
Background in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related field
