Job Summary:
Direct the on-shift maintenance team to maximize the plant operations. This includes on-shift maintenance accountability for automation controls, receiving, processing, load outs, evaporation, drying, butter production, facilities, HVAC systems. This position focuses on managing the day-to-day activities of the on-shift maintenance team. This Position will report directly to the Maintenance Manager.
Maintenance Supervisor’s Responsibilities:
- Supervising and leading all maintenance processes and operations on shift
- Work closely with Plant Engineering and Maintenance Manager to troubleshoot, improve and maintain the current operating facility.
- Lead on-shift maintenance team through difficult downtime events to include prioritizing critical downtime activities and managing all work orders through the shift.
- Inspect all machinery to ensure it’s of a working standard.
- Assist in creating and implementing maintenance procedures.
- Conducting regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems.
- Assist with implementing and maintaining training for the maintenance team to continue to grow. Training activities to include electrical and mechanical systems training and growth in control systems trouble shooting.
- Planning and managing all repair and installation activities.
- Ensuring all department workers adhere to the safety policies and procedures.
- Manage and validate performance of a rigorous preventative maintenance program.
- Preparing daily progress reports and maintenance logs.
- Overseeing equipment stock and placing orders for new supplies when necessary.
- Responsible for maintaining spare parts usage and inventory for all on shift activities.
- Ability to manage contractors working in the facility.
Maintenance Supervisor’s Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Bachelor’s degree in a mechanical or electrical discipline (preferred)
- Lead from the Front Mentality-Shop Floor management is a requirement
- Must be competent with CMMS systems, Supervisory control systems, Controls Logic and other programs that are specific to work environment
- Strong aptitude of automation, automation controls and controls logic
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance.
- Good understanding of the technical features of plumbing, electrical systems, mechanical systems, vacuum, and pressure systems
- Technical experience with industrial refrigeration and boilers systems are recommended.
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical Demands:
- Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time
- Large facility which requires extensive walking
- Repetitive Stairs: Equipment extends 10 to 12 stories and will require frequent trips during inspections and maintenance events
