ServiceNow / Azure Solutions Architect SME **Active Clearance Required** Role Overview The ServiceNow / Azure Solutions Architect SME is responsible for designing, implementing, and governing ServiceNow and Azure-based solutions that align with organizational objectives and industry best practices. This role provides technical leadership, architectural oversight, and subject matter expertise across ServiceNow and Azure environments while supporting system reliability, security, and scalability. Key Responsibilities * Design, implement, govern, and maintain ServiceNow architectural frameworks to ensure scalability, security, and alignment with business objectives and industry standards, including ITIL and CSDM * Oversee the deployment, administration, and maintenance of ServiceNow instances, ensuring configuration consistency across development, QA, and production environments * Manage ServiceNow upgrades, performance optimization, and platform stability * Serve as a ServiceNow subject matter expert, providing technical guidance, mentoring development teams, conducting code reviews, and enforcing architectural standards and governance processes * Develop effort estimates and basic deployment plans for ServiceNow functionality * Serve as the technical owner and subject matter expert for the Azure cloud environment, responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable and secure cloud solutions * Architect Azure solutions using Virtual Networks (VNETs), networking, and peering configurations * Lead the implementation of highly available and scalable solutions across availability zones and regions, including traffic management using application firewalls and gateways * Contribute to system integrations and automation efforts, including the use of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as GitLab, Terraform, and Ansible * Advise on and oversee software testing activities to ensure non-functional requirements (NFRs) are appropriately validated * Analyze and evaluate security protection technologies as required * Collaborate with system architects, software architects, and product teams to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the system and software development lifecycle * Identify technical risks and issues and implement mitigation strategies * Provide expert-level support for complex incidents, including root cause analysis and resolution * Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, architecture diagrams, and process flows * Communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment across customers, management, and engineering teams * Serve as a technical advisor during implementations, defining best practices for configuration, scripting, and workflow automation * Act as the primary technical point of contact for key customers and stakeholders * Support customer satisfaction by understanding mission-critical requirements and aligning technical delivery with customer objectives * Refine, document, and validate customer requirements * Define and document appropriate technologies to meet documented requirements * Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and prioritize issues * Mentor architects and engineers * Maintain current ServiceNow and industry certifications and obtain additional certifications as required Beacon Hill is an equal opportunity employer and individuals with disabilities and/or protected veterans are encouraged to apply.
