Position Summary
Accountable for leading a manufacturing leadership team within the Division to achieve results aligned with the Parker WIN Strategy and Division/Business unit Strategy Deployment goals.
Provides leadership for Operations employees. Coordinates cross-functional activities that may include any or all the following: Sales & Marketing, Design Engineering, Applications Engineering, Inventory Control and Production. Interacts with current and prospective customers, Sales Representatives & Distributors, all levels of the Division.
Responsibilities
To create and foster an environment that engages and empowers team members and prioritizes safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
To profitably grow the business and achieve value stream, division, and corporate goals monthly, quarterly and annually. Works with current and potential customers to promote and leverage company technologies, systems, products and services.
Lead strategy deployment for the operation, concentrating on Lean Initiatives and asset management. Lead manufacturing and process engineering to ensure operational efficiency and economy.
Ensure that daily operations are driven by KPIs that clearly connect Division, Operations, and Value Stream objectives with defined governance and management standard work.
Provide leadership of daily operations in a union manufacturing shop, ensuring compliance with labor agreements, safety regulations, compliance, and production goals.
Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and morale on the operations floor, including organizing team-building events, recognition programs, and feedback sessions.
To deliver premier customer service as customer facing Operations focal. Provide support and address customer concerns through direct interaction and presentations that clearly articulate a message of support and customer satisfaction.
Support mentorship opportunities and career development plans to nurture and advance the skills and careers of employees.
Accountable for driving Lean Initiatives throughout the operation to ensure they are fully embraced and implemented.
Ensure the operation has adequate inventory, production control scheduling, shipping/receiving logistics.
Develop budget plans and manage operation within budget constraints.
Maintain familiarity with competitive environment within geographical area of responsibility.
Represent the operation at the value stream and division levels.
Provide leadership by promoting team concepts, coaching, counseling, retaining, mentoring, training, talent management, and individual development. Promote a culture of accountability and results through strategy deployment and effective performance management.
Qualifications
Ten or more years of successful Operations leadership with quantifiable results in a complex manufacturing environment with teams of considerable size and diverse functionality.
Demonstrated ability to create and implement a vision to motivate and empower the team in a drive for sustained excellence.
Operations leadership experience in a union environment.
Knowledge of the product(s) and manufacturing operations that would typically be obtained through a bachelor's degree in a manufacturing related field, business or engineering, and progressive career experience. An M.B.A., an advanced technical degree, or professional designation may be preferred.
Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.
Current knowledge of the latest Lean methodology, manufacturing technology, productivity and quality measurements, and material/planning systems requiring continual review of methods to optimize productivity.
