Production Supervisor (Manufacturing)
Location: Metro Detroit, MI (Trenton Area)
Pay: $42.00/hour (1st Shift) | $43.60/hour (2nd Shift)
Shifts Available
1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (start at 5:30 AM)
2nd Shift: 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM (start at 3:00 PM)
Training conducted on 1st shift; flexibility required for shift rotation
Job Summary
We are seeking a driven Production Supervisor to lead automotive manufacturing operations within a high-volume engine plant. This role oversees production, safety, quality, and continuous improvement across machining lines including blocks, cranks, and heads.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily production operations to meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery goals
Supervise 15-30 union employees and team leaders in a fast-paced environment
Assign work, manage staffing, and respond to downtime and production issues
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and TPS principles
Support problem-solving and root cause analysis to improve performance
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership to meet plant objectives
Coach, train, and develop team members to build autonomy and engagement
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred (or in progress with strong experience)
Prior supervisory or leadership experience in manufacturing or related field
Experience in automotive manufacturing is a plus
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Toyota Production System (TPS) preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
