As NTH continues to grow, we are looking to hire a Principal to lead Air Quality Permitting and Compliance Projects and help expand our client footprint. With offices in Northville, Detroit, East Lansing, Grand Rapids, and a lab and equipment office in Livonia, we are positioned to expand our services and client portfolio to align with the company’s strategic plan.
How You Will Make An Impact
- Lead high-profile projects, serve as the trusted advisor for clients, and drive growth opportunities across our markets.
- Function as a client lead and primary point of contact with clients on projects.
- Drive business results by identifying and pursuing new opportunities, expanding client relationships, and positioning NTH’s services to meet evolving client needs.
- Support project managers and ensure the highest level of quality on project deliverables and client services.
- Partner with our Environmental Division Director, Market Directors, and our Air Quality Team to position NTH for growth and provide the needed services to this market.
- Provide technical expertise to our clients to develop solutions and be a technical resource to other project managers on various projects.
- Assist in recruiting and developing new professionals. Understanding of current and upcoming regulations and customer trends affecting NTH’s clients.
What You Bring to The Team
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Technology, Environmental Science/Health, Natural Resources, or related degree, from a 4-year accredited college or university. Master’s degree preferred.
- Professional registration a plus.
- 15+ years of demonstrated leadership experience providing technical solutions to air permitting projects and with relevant experience as a consultant, client advocate, and/or account manager within the industry.
- Significant experience in air quality field, including Clean Air Act permitting, New Source Review (NSR), Prevention of Significant Deterioration, Best Available Control Technology, and compliance.
- Knowledgeable in federal MACT and NSPS standards, Michigan Air Pollution Control Rules, Air Dispersion Modeling, and Ambient Air Monitoring Programs.
- Experience negotiating air permit conditions with regulatory agencies and performing third-party environmental audits.
- Experience with project planning, budgeting, delegation, and management to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Experience negotiating project scope and fees with clients.
- Experience advocating for clients and projects with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
- Experience leading and growing a team of diverse professionals.
- Ability to organize technical material into comprehensive reports and perform QA/QC reviews on work product.
- Project planning, invoicing, and collections, budgeting, task delegation and management to ensure project is completed according to work plans.
- Demonstrated ability to seek and establish new clients and build good business relations with both new and existing clients.
- Develop and maintain professional business relations with clients
- Assist in developing business strategies and action plans for creating growth opportunities.
- Conduct periodic site / client visits, project, and business development meetings.
- Accuracy, dependability, and strong organizational skills.
- Time management skills, ability to manage multiple projects at any given time, and have ability to work in a team environment.
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills, be able to work in a team environment as well as independently, demonstrate collaborative approach to problem-solving, and have ability to interact with clients to understand their needs.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to and conduct field work at job sites/offices in Michigan.
- May be required to perform job duties in the field and office, during non-standard work hours, as necessary.
- Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
