Advantage Technical is hiring a Jr. Mechanical Engineer to support a military vehicle program in Sterling Heights, MI. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on system integration, prototype builds, and manufacturing support-ideal for an early-career mechanical engineer ready to grow.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead system integration activities for prototype vehicle builds, verification, and delivery
Develop and manage prototype build plans, schedules, and engineering documentation
Support manufacturing and fabrication processes, including shop work orders and material tracking
Act as liaison between engineering teams and production shop
Monitor BOM, engineering releases, and material flow to meet build timelines
Identify, document, and resolve engineering and manufacturing issues during prototype builds
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Ability to work on and around vehicles, including performing tasks in confined spaces in accordance with safety requirements
Strong communication, technical writing, and problem-solving skills
Experience with manufacturing, prototype builds, or system integration preferred
Willingness to work occasional overtime as needed
Preferred Experience:
Experience with Teamcenter, Vis Mockup, or Oracle
Background in automotive, defense, or manufacturing engineering
