Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) Engineer - Wayne, MI
Pay: $42.31/hour
Schedule: Fully onsite
We are seeking an experienced PVT Engineer to support vehicle assembly quality, root cause analysis, and manufacturing engineering within a high-volume production environment. This role serves as the first line of defense for product quality, working cross-functionally to resolve issues and improve vehicle performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and resolve quality issues related to incoming components and assembly processes
Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and containment activities
Support stop ship/stop build events, audits, and engineering trials
Review warranty data, customer feedback, and returned parts to identify trends
Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to drive quality improvements and cost reductions
Support product launches, engineering changes, and variability reduction initiatives
Conduct water, wind, and sealing testing for vehicle systems
Create and present quality reports and performance metrics to leadership
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
5+ years of experience in product development, manufacturing, or quality engineering
Strong background in root cause analysis, problem-solving, and quality systems
Experience working with cross-functional teams and suppliers
Six Sigma Black Belt and design release experience (WERS) preferred
