SUMMARY:
Management Business Solutions (MBS) is seeking a Senior HR Generalist for a client the Grand Rapids, MI, area. This individual will be responsible for actively assisting in implementing and evaluating policies, programs and practices within the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support for managers in development of employees, documentation of employee performance, corrective action plans, and disciplinary actions.
- Perform an active role in providing conflict resolution.
- Maintains employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends, recommending benefit programs to management, handling of benefit claims and Workers’ Compensation Injury claims, obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids and awarding benefit contracts.
- Administer the health, dental, vision, flexible spending, and life insurance plan including determining the eligibility of employees and dependents, enrollment, and providing helpful, informative answers to their questions.
- Oversee recruiting and onboarding process including verifying references, background, credit checks and pre-employment drug screens on all prospective employees as well as provision of and collection of New Hire paperwork.
- Actively assist in the strategy planning for cost containment of benefit plans
- Assist with administration of 401k plans including enrolling employees with yearly Audits.
- Review, proofing and maintenance of employee handbook.
- Serve as backup for Payroll Processing.
- Booking and confirming travel arrangements and anticipating and meeting administrative needs of ownership through use of various resources.
- Responsible for monthly reconciliation of accuracy of billing, payments and employee enrollment in benefits plans.
- Maintain and provide log of Workers Comp Injury Claims.
- Maintain and provide reports for Unemployment claims, EEOC, Census, OSHA, Affirmative Action surveys.
- Research and report on developing trends in HR.Assist and advise company managers regarding human resource issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required.
- 3 years of experience in HR Management required.
- Some travel may be required.
