Hitt's Fine Furniture is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy in our Ironwood store to assist with the assembly & finishing of unfinished furniture, furniture delivery, store cleaning, and other duties as required.
GENERAL SUMMARY: The Employee will be responsible for deliveries, assembly, driving the company vehicles, snow shoveling, sidewalk sweeping, basic maintenance, sanding and finishing wood products, general cleaning of the showroom and other areas of the buildings, maintaining a timecard, and maintaining a positive, good relationship with customers and co-workers. He will be neat and present Hitt’s Fine Furniture in a positive light to the community and potential customers. The Employee is expected to be a team player.
WORKER TRAITS: The Employee must be able to work with others and be willing to take direction. The Employee must be willing to learn new tasks.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS: The Employee is ultimately supervised by the owner. He will work closely with the owner. It is expected that the employee will work as a team member with other employees and communicate and cooperate with them. Other employees who have been delegated by the owner to be responsible for certain duties are to be respected in those roles, and the employee will take direction from them.
HOURS: An average work week will be approximately 40 hours/week, with the daily hours to be determined in mutual cooperation between the owner and the employee. Employees are expected to be available for work every other Saturday (6-hour shift).
BENEFITS: Vacation: After working six months, the employee will become eligible for one week of paid vacation, equivalent to one work week annually. After four years, this will be increased to two weeks. The Employee must request vacation with the owners’ approval. If the employee resigns from this position, a three-week notice is required to be eligible to receive unused vacation pay. Employee is eligible for discounts on products and will consult with the owner on the pricing.
PAID HOLIDAYS: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and the employee’s birthday. Pay for these holidays will be equal to an eight-hour day’s pay.
COMPENSATION: The starting salary will be negotiable based on previous experience, with a review of the position after one month and again after 6 months of employment.
