We are looking for a dynamic Traffic Coordinator / Branch Inventory Specialist to join our Traffic Team at our Manufacturing Operations Headquarters located in Monroe, MI. This is a Seasonal position with the potential for full-time employment based on performance, business needs, and staffing availability. Seasonal team members who demonstrate strong reliability, a positive attitude, and solid job performance may be considered for permanent placement.
Job Summary: The Traffic Coordinator is primarily responsible for routing all freight in the most cost efficient manner within the customers expectations. tracking, tracing, and updating containers/shipments while developing and maintaining good relationships with carriers, truckers, customers, vendors and warehouses.
Key Responsibilities: (Other duties as assigned)
- Schedule all inbound/outbound trucking to pick up and deliver loads of building materials and product
- Update – Open Orders -Determine New Orders - Print and Route.
- Maintain exceptional customer service and nurture relationships with customers, carriers, drivers, warehouses and other vendors
- Communicate with internal office team members, off site locations and vendors regarding delivery status, service requests and payment
- Report Open Order Recaps for Play and Shed daily and as status’ are updated
- Maintain timely response and status updates of tasks, emails and projects
- Validate and keep records of incoming and outgoing shipments, investigate product shortage, damage or other issues to resolve all inquires
- Review, verify and approve LTL freight invoices and TL invoices
- Cross train and assist other team members on tasks and projects
- Prioritize tasks to meet expected shipping dates
- VMI for Lowes and Home Depot
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED with 2 years of relevant experience preferably in the logistics / transportation industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication skills
- Advance skill in Microsoft Office Suite – emphasis on Excel and Outlook
- Exceptionally well organized, ability to multi-task, detail driven and self-motivated work ethic
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced high pressure environment with minimal supervision
- Successful completion of compliance requirements such as a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Beneficial for individual if they have WSM (Warehouse/Management/ System) background.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have any supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
Work Environment:
Operates in a professional office environment as well as within a manufacturing environment subject to inside environmental conditions and noise. Often required to sit, use repetitive hand motion, hear, listen, talk, stand, and walk. Often required to climb stairs, reach overhead, pull, push, and lift up to 50 pounds.
