The Charter Township of Redford is accepting applications for a full-time position of Seasonal Summer Food Program Worker. Under the supervision of the Recreation Program Manager, this employee will work with our seasonal summer food program to provide daily meals to youth during the summer months.
Essential Functions
- Distribute meals to youth at selected sites throughout the Township.
- Directly responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program, including filling out daily paperwork, counting and keeping track of daily meals and picking up pre-made meals.
- Comply with all policies, procedures, and reports for the Summer food service program.
- Work with the Recreation Program Manager on daily food counts and orders for the next day.
- Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a valid drivers license and be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Employees must be available to work the entire program from mid-June to the beginning of August.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed primarily in both indoor and outdoor recreation facilities. Work includes travel to different locations and employees may be exposed to inclement weather conditions; work and/or walk on various types of surfaces including slippery and uneven surfaces.
Physically, functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a recreational facility setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate cleaning equipment; to travel to other recreation sites; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
