Join our team! The City of Kentwood Parks and Recreation Department is seeking an enthusiastic Gymnastics Instructor to lead fun, engaging classes that help participants build strength, coordination, and confidence.
This position plays an important role in creating a safe and supportive environment where children and participants of all skill levels can learn new gymnastics skills while staying active and having fun.
What You’ll Do
As a Gymnastics Instructor, you will lead classes that promote skill development, safety, and a positive experience for participants.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading structured gymnastics classes for various ages and skill levels
- Demonstrating and teaching basic gymnastics skills and techniques
- Ensuring equipment is used safely and properly
- Monitoring participant progress and providing encouragement and feedback
- Setting up and putting away gymnastics equipment
- Communicating clearly with participants, parents, and recreation staff
- Enforcing safety guidelines and program policies
This role combines instruction, mentorship, and community engagement.
About You
Our ideal candidate:
- Has experience in gymnastics, coaching, or teaching physical activity programs
- Demonstrates strong communication and customer service skills
- Enjoys working with children and helping others learn new skills
- Understands the importance of safety and proper technique in gymnastics instruction
- Can create a positive, encouraging, and structured class environment
