Our client is looking for a Systems Administrator to assist with current systems. Candidate will work on software or hardware changes made to equipment in support of program or mission requirements.
Tasks
- Make decisions determining most critical response needs from received requests.
- Make decisions about scheduling of resources based on level of need and resources available.
- Image and deploy laptop and workstation systems for the Camp Grayling post.
- Occasional imaging and deployment/installation of equipment at other locations throughout the state may be required.
- Maintain and repair all program resources for Camp grayling Distance Learning Program (DLP). Perform system patching, updates, refresh of operating system image. Installation of all peripherals, projectors, printers, camera's, sound equipment and recording devices.
- Configuring, installation, and support of all video conferencing systems.
- Configuring and maintenance of bridge system for conferencing.
- Manage and coordinate calendars and scheduling tools for Camp Grayling DLC.
- Conduct inventory and document hand receipts for all incoming and outgoing equipment.
- Coordinate staff support of all equipment for end users.
- Maintain data to support metric requirements provided to National Guard Bureau program management.
- Schedule and coordinate all audio and video conferences with owned locations and distant locations throughout the world.
- Prepare rooms for scheduled video or audio conferences.
- Coordinate issuance and return of loaned endpoints, video and audio equipment, and ensure equipment is properly set-up and taken down in support of conference requirements as needed.
- Ensure classified video conferencing is conducted in appropriate areas and verify class level of all participants prior to connecting system.
- Ensure classified and un-classified conferences are tested prior to event date.
- Monitor all classified transmissions to ensure integrity of communication.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Occasional amount of lifting and bending is required, climbing ladders, working in small or high areas, use of tools typically associated with running cable, testing systems, or repairing computer or network equipment.
- Employee should be able to lift 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance to facilitate moving or installing equipment.
NOTE: Local candidates within 1 hour of Grayling, MI (strongly preferred) or non-local (must be willing to relocate within 1 hour of Grayling, MI at their own expense from acceptance with no delays & be able to work fully onsite). Resource will be required to work fully onsite 5 days per week from day 1. This position requires an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required by federal regulations for clearance eligibility.

Skills Required:
- 3-5 years - Experience as a system admin and/or in a help desk role
- Experience troubleshooting of computer systems, networking/connectivity, audio visual equipment.
- Proficient use of Microsoft office systems.
- Working knowledge of SharePoint, documentation policies, and inventory management.
- Security+ Certification
- US Secret Clearance is required. Must have at least 1 year of active clearance time remaining.
Skills Desired – A plus to have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
