Position Summary:
Assists with the day to day technical manufacturing engineers in determining the methods and sequence of manufacturing operations for products, machine parts, and assemblies to achieve efficient and reliable manufacturing processes and workflow. Responsible for working with Quality Engineering and the shop floor for completing rework instructions, and updates process to reflect current practices. Takes lead on tooling accountability by organizing, labeling, and ordering standard tooling.
Responsibilities:
Addresses daily fixturing and setup issues
Order Consumable tooling
Assist in daily chemical adds/decants under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineer
Facilitate any machine repairs and modifications with maintenance
Assist with outside vendors for new machines and machine upgrades
Assist with machine preventive maintenance
Review and support EHS policies and safety initiatives
Investigate and solve any wastewater issues or abnormalities
Work with natural team to Pareto Machine OEE Data and develop action plans
Assists in the manufacturing process by creating and/or editing travelers and/or work instructions
Reduce set-up and run times by developing tool and fixture solutions
Participates in Natural team HPT/Teir 2 meetings and provides communication to Manufacturing Engineer and Leadership
Create and maintain 3D models and detailed engineering prints using AutoCAD/3D modeling software.
Requirements:
Prior hands-on experience with CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through five or more directly related experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of honing principles: bore geometry, cross-hatch, stock removal, grit selection, and surface finish requirements.
Experience working to tight tolerances (e.g., within microns/ten-thousandths of an inch).
General knowledge of aerospace or similar industry products and manufacturing and assembly operations.
Ability to effectively apply continuous improvement methods to manufacturing functions (e.g. process mapping, design-to-production automation).
May require ability to use standard business software applications and/or specialized data analysis or database tools.
Ability to adapt procedures, techniques, and/or processes to meet special needs.
Ability to work on assignments that are complex where considerable judgement and initiative is required to resolve problems and considerable knowledge of manufacturing routings, travelers, blueprints, and/or the overall production process is preferred.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to use 3-D modeling software / CAD for creating and modifying detailed engineering drawings
