The Oceana County Council on Aging is hiring for an Accounting/Human Resources Assistant. This is a part-time/year round position. All ages encouraged to apply!
POSITION TITLE: PART-TIME ACCOUNTING/HUMAN RESOUCES ASSISTANT
POSITION REPORTS TO: FINANCE COORDINATOR
GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION: To assist in accounting and clerical duties of the Finance Coordinator. To provide administrative support for Human Resources on all personnel matters and assist with record keeping of all vacation and PTO for employees.
MAJOR JOB SEGMENTS:
- Attend Board of Director’s meetings and prepare minutes along with any and all resolutions made by the Board of Directors.
- Compile and send Board Packets for Board of Director’s meetings.
- Count incoming cash, check and credit card payments and enter into QuickBooks.
- Assist Finance Coordinator with orders for vendor’s bills and staff reimbursements.
- Keep log of Staff Vacation, PTO and Inclement Weather Days.
- Filing.
- Shredding of old papers and or documents as directed by Finance Coordinator.
- Other accounting and clerical tasks as requested by Finance Coordinator.
- Work toward learning to perform all aspects of the Payroll Functions and Preparation of Payroll Taxes in absence of Finance Coordinator.
- Provide appropriate service to all of the organization’s clients, staff and board as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Completion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Accurate financial reporting.
- Computer skills in e-mail, Word, Excel and QuickBooks.
- Self- motivated.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work with staff, volunteers, clients, vendors and other organizations and agencies.
- Any additional knowledge of computer skills an asset.
The Oceana County Council on Aging is a nonprofit agency that promotes and safeguards the independence and well being of individuals 60 years of age and older by providing services, information and support to the residents of the County.
