Key Responsibilities
Design and architect highperformance storage solutions for HPC workloads integrated into shipped KLA tools.
Own storage design tradeoffs across performance, reliability, cost, serviceability, and lifecycle.
Define storage requirements early in the product lifecycle and support NPI through production ramp.
Develop and execute performance benchmarks aligned to real engineering workloads; analyze I/O patterns and tune storage stacks for throughput, latency, and reliability.
Partner with product engineering, HPC architects, hardware teams, and Corporate IT to ensure alignment and successful delivery.
Support hardware qualification, EOL transitions, and requalification of storage components.
Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to CSIG design standards and best practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of handson experience designing or supporting HPC storage systems.
Strong experience with parallel and distributed storage architectures.
Deep understanding of storage performance (latency, bandwidth, IOPS, metadata).
Experience delivering storage solutions for longlifecycle or productized environments.
Ability to work across hardware, software, and infrastructure teams.
Technical Skills (Required)
Highperformance and distributed storage systems.
Parallel file systems (e.g., Lustre, GPFS, or equivalent).
NVMebased storage, highbandwidth interconnects, RAID, and dataprotection strategies.
Linux systems performance tuning and troubleshooting.
HPC networking concepts (highspeed fabrics; RDMA preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience shipping storage solutions as part of commercial products.
Familiarity with HPC clusters, schedulers, and compute/storage codesign.
Exposure to Kubernetes or containerized environments with performancecritical storage.
Background in semiconductor, manufacturing, or highreliability engineering environments.

Base Pay Range: $105,900.00 - $180,000.00
