The Production Superintendent manages daily production functions within the plant, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving operational and personnel issues.

Lead all assembly operations within the plant and coordinate the activities of the production departments. This requires familiarity with all assembly processes, continuous awareness of customer shipping requirements, work schedules, and quality expectations. Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet production schedules, maintain the appropriate ratio of indirect to direct labor, and monitor the overall cost of operations with a focus on profit and loss. Ensure parts are produced on schedule, quality standards are maintained, and operational costs are minimized.

Analyze and determine material, equipment, and staffing requirements by reviewing daily operating results. Conduct daily meetings with subordinates and maintain regular communication with department heads to identify and resolve production issues. Follow up to confirm that problems have been corrected or determine the next best course of action, fostering strong cooperation between departments.

Identify, implement, and verify continuous improvement opportunities to enhance productivity, efficiency, and operational performance.

Ensure the implementation and compliance of shop floor standards, including BOS, 5S, company policies and procedures, and employee relations activities.

Maintain responsibility for the overall quality of the products produced. Possess the authority and responsibility to identify quality issues and take appropriate action, including halting production if necessary. Investigate root causes, initiate corrective actions to prevent recurrence, and participate in audits and other preventative quality measures.

Motivate and direct the training and development of all production personnel. Select competent individuals and develop each team member by leveraging strengths and improving weaknesses. Foster a strong sense of responsibility toward the company and their teams. Regularly evaluate and communicate performance progress to ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining high morale and a sense of accomplishment among production staff.

Ensure customer needs are met by acting as a liaison between managers and staff, effectively communicating relevant information to all stakeholders.

Collaborate in establishing individual objectives by analyzing and understanding each employee’s job responsibilities and performance expectations.

Understand and actively participate in Health, Safety, Environmental, and Energy (HSE&E) practices applicable to the role.

Report accidents, occupational illnesses, and HSE&E emergencies. Notify supervisors of any known HSE&E conditions that could adversely affect team members, company assets, or the public.

Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and promote safe working practices within assigned production areas.

Perform other related tasks, duties, and responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager or Plant Manager.
