Position Summary:
Under the supervision of Residential Treatment Manager, responsible for the health, welfare and safety of all individuals in the Behavioral Health Residential Treatment Center and Supportive Living Program. Closely monitor activities both inside and outside of the facility and report issues to the appropriate supervisor. All Behavioral Health staff must adhere to mandated reporting laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete all necessary intake documentation for clients referred for Residential Treatment Center.
- Maintain client records in accordance with state, federal, accreditation commission standards and Behavioral Health program standards and policies.
- Supervise resident with self-administration of medications. Provide verbal reminders of medication times.
- Monitor medication, complete logs for medication, and order medications as needed.
- Complete accurate daily documentation of resident behavior, health status and services that are provided via “Shift Notes.”
- Ensure that all residents are accounted for with attendance checks within the building and when at outside events and activities.
- Monitor resident’s behavior and document acceptable and unacceptable behaviors according to program protocols, including critical incidents in program logs.
- Conduct search of resident’s belongings and room as instructed.
- Administer drug tests and PBT tests in accordance with the resident drug testing policy. Monitor residents while taking drug screens as requested.
- Develop rapport and a professional relationship, while maintaining appropriate ethical boundaries with residents. Provide short-term crisis intervention.
- Assist with food purchases, meal preparation and distribution, and kitchen/dining room cleanup.
- Provide transportation to medical appointments and other facilities as necessary.
- Demonstrate a commitment to cultural programming by learning of cultural teachings, participating in and coordinating cultural activities for clients, and by providing continuous support for the enhancement of the culture, language, and traditions.
- Provide a supportive environment which will benefit the person receiving services and aid in their recovery process.
- Monitor building security, utilizing the C-cure system, Simplex, camera surveillance system and perform physical checks of doors and windows during shift.
- Learn Emergency Policies and Procedures and participate and document required safety drills.
- Maintain confidentiality of Behavioral Health Treatment as established by state and federal laws under CFR 42, following accreditation commission standards.
- Adhere to resident confidentiality and comply with department policies and federal regulations under the Privacy rules of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

- Direct contact with residents, families, and guests to provide care; may encounter emotionally upset residents, family members, or visitors and must be able to handle difficult situations with patience, kindness, and respect.
- Contact with tribal youth, adults, the general public, social services, court or legal systems and other agencies and providers deemed appropriate to accomplish resident’s effective services and treatment exercising discretion and judgment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be able to pass background check to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the substance abuse field.
- Experience in a residential treatment center.
- Experience with Native American traditions and culture.
