SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the comprehensive health, wellness, and performance of community college student-athletes. The Certified Athletic Trainer will provide injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services for North Central Michigan College student-athletes as well as serve as the host site certified athletic trainer for all home Timberwolves athletic events.
DUTIES
- Injury Prevention:
- Develop and implement injury prevention programs.
- Conduct pre-participation physical evaluations.
- Ensure proper use of protective equipment.
- Injury Evaluation and Treatment:
- Provide on-site injury evaluation and immediate care during practices and competitions for home and visiting teams.
- Develop and implement rehabilitation programs.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
- Coordinate referrals to physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Administrative Duties:
- Manage student-athlete health records.
- Maintain inventory of athletic training supplies and equipment.
- Develop and implement emergency action plans.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
- File insurance claim paperwork with secondary insurance provider.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in athletic training
- NATA BOC Certification
- Licensed or eligible to be licensed as athletic trainer in State of Michigan
- Current CPR/AED certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with student athletes, coaches, and other staff members
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- 1-3 years of experience in a collegiate athletic setting preferred
Pay Rate: $40.00/hour.
Hours: 25 hours per week/45 weeks per year (aligned with sport seasons).
