General Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Deputy Director of Juvenile Services, this position maintains a caseload of no more than twenty youth and develops individualized case management plans that focus on stability, guidance and oversight for youth who could benefit from more intensive services than standard probation. Initiates community suppo1i services for the youth and family and closely monitors the effectiveness of each service. Maintains frequent contact with youth and performs functions related to intensive case supervision. Operates outside the parameters of traditional working hours to assist youth in improving problem solving skills and self-control.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, criminal justice, counseling, or other closely related fields of human services preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years work experience working with juvenile offenders or closely related work in a criminal justice or social work profession.
Other Requirements:
• Must be at least 21 years old at the time of hire.
• Must adhere to the State Court Administrative Office Model Code of Conduct.
• Michigan Judicial Institute (MJI) certification within two years of employment.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• Must be on-call for after-hours phone calls and carry a work issued cell phone.
• Must attend professional development training and seminars as scheduled.
