This position is responsible for performing recruiting activities, both on and off-campus. The incumbent is expected to provide traditional recruiting to all prospective high school students in his/her designated recruiting area. The incumbent will be a primary point of contact for local schools to promote Mid’s programs and offerings. Other recruitment targets include, but are not limited to, international, guest, and non-traditional students, as well as veterans.
This position also works closely with faculty and academic administrators to facilitate program promotion and to increase enrollment for dual enrolled, transfer, technical, and occupational program students
Examples of Duties
- Coordinates recruitment activities at area high and junior-high schools to promote greater awareness of and enrollment at the College.
- Presents at technical, vocational, and adult education organizations, as well as community and public events in order to promote the college.
- Designs and delivers compelling presentations, and provides appropriate follow-up, one-on-one meetings and materials about Mid’s main values, vision, and processes by which prospects become enrollees.
- Develops and retains relationships with schools and school personnel, including counselors.
- Arranges and coordinates both on and off campus recruiting events, including events for high school or junior high personnel.
- Use the college’s CRM system (TargetX) to track and manage communication with prospective and current students.
- Enter and update student information accurately, document interactions, and monitor application progress through our CRM and SIS systems.
- Support outreach efforts by sending communications, following up with students, and helping maintain organized records.
- Coordinates and supervises admissions’ ambassadors and work studies.
- Works to increase enrollment for occupational and online programs, and to support growth of non-traditional, international, guest, and veteran students, as well as any other targets that might support the College’s Enrollment Management and Strategic Plans.
- Assists in the conceptualization of materials that support recruitment and communication to prospective and accepted students and ultimately promotes increased enrollment.
- Works with faculty on a regular basis in order to understand and promote Mid’s programs and degrees.
- Coordinates with other college and campus offices to provide current information for students.
- As part of the admissions team, actively engages in improvements to admissions’ goals, targets, methods, measures, and outreach.
- Assists in the development and implementation of departmental objectives, policies, procedures and standards; recommends changes to departmental procedures as necessary to improve the efficacy of the institution’s Admissions goals and initiatives.
- Supports and serves as a role model for our mission, vision, values, and customer service initiatives. Adheres to the organization’s policies & procedures, and compliance guidelines. Ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations guiding the Admissions function.
- Per the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act),a federal consumer protection law, your job position entails functions that meet the definition of a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSAs have a duty to report any crime to the College’s Clery Compliance Officer. This information may be disclosed to them directly, through third-party, or witnessed. As a CSA, you are required to complete annual training which is provided by the College. This training encompasses your role, responsibilities, and reporting obligations.

Typical Qualifications
Education, Certification, Licensure:

Bachelor’s degree required; BA/BS in related field preferred (e.g., Business, Communications, Marketing), OR, an Associate's degree with at least two years of relevant experience.
