Rate of Pay: $229,680.00 to $298,500.00 per year
Duties: Lead enterprise architectural strategy & plan activity across Commercial business, including MedSurg & Neurotechnology, Orthopaedics & Spine, Asia Pacific, & Europe, LATAM, Canada & EEMEA. Assess business capabilities, defining tech & platform strategies, develop strategic roadmaps & guide end-to-end architectural solution approaches in alignment w/Commercial business & IT objectives. Leverage enterprise strategies, plans & standards w/in Commercial domain to influence advancement of architectural outcomes through investment plan & guide solution-related architectural governance in partnership w/cross-functional EA, IT & business stakeholders. Develop & manage business capability model across Commercial business domains, ensuring comprehensive & accurate representation of how capabilities are enabled by tech landscape for business units / locations. Lead & maintain assessment of business capabilities across Commercial divisions, including evaluation of capability importance, impact, performance & health. Develop strategies that align Commercial goals & objectives to architectural plans that enable realization of them. Recommend investment strategies & scenarios that maximize advancement of defined plans w/in funding constraints. Maintain ownership of enterprise tech standards across Commercial businesses. Drive advancement of standards adoption opps through planning & solution governance. Monitor and mitigate risks associated w/continued investment in non-standard areas. Manage architectural opportunities & risks that exist w/in Commercial landscape, including functional redundancy, standards adoption, tech risk & decommissioning. Manage and resolve risks that arise regarding delivery to strategy and plan. Oversee development of architectural reference materials that demonstrate current & target-state architectural constructs & plans. Develop roadmaps & plans to account for transitionary elements needed to achieve target-state architectural objectives. Support functional & delivery teams through efforts to properly account for & align plans w/investment planning processes. Lead monitoring & assessment of tech health & risk stemming from underlying tech layers that link E2E value stream, while driving respective mitigation & roadmap planning efforts to address. Represent Enterprise Architecture (EA) in emerging tech activity in alignment w/Innovation practices across Global IT & business forums, including support & participation in industry trending, proof of concepts activities & research/assessment activity associated w/new vendors, capabilities & tech strategies. Lead EA activity associated w/M&A efforts in partnership w/other EA stakeholders, including assessment & disposition analysis for platform migrations, updating of E2E architecture reference materials & integration of new apps portfolios to company information & tool repositories. Ensure ongoing maintenance & quality of Application Portfolio Management info across Commercial domains. Track KPIs associated w/achieving target architectural outcomes on behalf of Commercial domains. Define plans/activity required to achieve KPI targets & represent progress/risks vs KPI target achievement over time. Represent EA w/in strategic review cadences, representing any EA landscape information, plan/roadmap status & opportunity/risk profile associated w/achievement of strategic objectives. Monitor regulatory guidelines & compliance-related guidance to determine impact & resolution guidance on enterprise information architecture. Provide innovative approaches to business outcomes to create solutions that achieve competitive advantage. Understand and consider IT industry, customers, regulatory & competitive issues when solving problems & making decisions. Work w/business & IT leaders to promote pilot & test areas where new trends & technologies can be adopted & lead where necessary with clear articulation & measurement of the potential benefits.
Requirements: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Management, or related field and ten (10) years of experience working with third-party IT vendors and/or IT system solution providers. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Management, or related field and eight (8) years of experience working with third-party IT vendors and/or IT system solution providers. Position requires: experience working with Enterprise Architecture frameworks, including TOGAF or Zachman; experience working with Cloud technologies and IaaS, SaaS and PaaS solutions from a selection to an implementation perspective; experience establishing and maintaining technology governance; five (5) years of experience managing internal and external teams, including influencing senior-level management and stakeholders; and five (5) years of experience developing Governance and Enterprise Architecture Commercials.
