Talascend is currently seeking a Model Maker I for a contract opportunity with our client in Livonia, Michigan.
Overview
The Model Maker I will work with various composite and 3D printed materials and maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition. The Model Maker I will be mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions.
Responsibilities
- Surface parts and fit components for assemblies.
- Develop composite tooling and molds.
- Create foam plank build-ups.
- Laminate with epoxy resins and carbon composites.
- Participate in vac-form disciplines.
- Operate shop equipment, including hand tools, and perform preventive maintenance.
- Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ previous experience required.
- Preferred: Certificate in Autobody, Automotive Technology or related.
Requirements
- Mechanical ability and ability to operate shop equipment.
- Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Has own tools with toolbox.
- Ability to read, comprehend and execute written and verbal instructions.
Preferred Requirements
- Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends.
- Valid driver’s license.
