The Life & Health Account Professional supports the Account Executive in servicing and managing client accounts, with a primary focus on local, small group health renewals and the sale of individual life insurance policies. This role combines account management, client service,
and sales responsibilities to ensure client retention, growth, and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Small Group Account Support & Renewals
• Support the Account Executive in managing and renewing local small group health accounts.
• Analyze renewal rates, benefit changes, and carrier plan modifications.
• Prepare side-by-side comparisons and client ready proposals.
• Communicate renewal strategies and recommendations to clients.
• Coordinate implementation of new or transitioning plans.
• Serve as liaison between clients and various insurance carriers to resolve billing, claims, and eligibility issues, as directed.
• Monitor industry trends and carrier updates to provide proactive guidance to clients.
Client Service & Relationship Management
• Support Account Executive with servicing tasks such as non-payment notices, enrollments, and terminations. Other duties as assigned.
• Answer incoming phone calls and provide excellent service to clients.
• Build long-term client relationships to drive retention and account rounding.
• Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional lines (disability, ancillary benefits, voluntary products)
• Provide consultative guidance to small business owners and individuals.
• Maintain high service standards consistent with an independent agency’s reputation.
Individual Life Insurance Sales
• Generate and close individual life insurance sales from:
o Existing small group clients
o Referrals
o Agency cross-selling opportunities
• Conduct needs analysis and recommend appropriate life products (term, whole life, universal life, etc.)
• Assist clients through application, underwriting, and policy delivery.
• Maintain strong relationships with carrier representatives to support case placement.
Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate and organized client records in agency management systems.
• Ensure all documentation meets regulatory and carrier requirements.
• Stay current on carrier products, compliance updates, and industry trends.
• Maintain appropriate state Life & Health insurance license and continuing education.
• Support agency retention and revenue growth goals.
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies
• High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ability to obtain Life & Health Insurance License. We will support training and licensure.
• Strong ability to learn and understand new concepts relating to insurance.
• Excellent communication problem-solving skills.
• Superior organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced agency environment.
• Confidence in working in Microsoft Excel and other programs.
