Michigan Department of Treasury seeks a skilled and knowledgeable specialist to serve as the department’s technical expert for accounting and tax systems, including SAP, GenTax, and the Statewide Integrated Governmental Management System (SIGMA).
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the department’s subject matter expert for SAP and GenTax, requiring deep technical and functional system knowledge.
• Ensure proper accounting methods and procedures are consistently applied across the department.
• Establish and maintain guidelines for processing financial transactions within SIGMA.
• Support compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Troubleshoot and resolve system interface issues and assist with year-end closing processes.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new taxes, system enhancements, and reporting solutions.
• Collaborate closely with internal partners, including the Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB).
• Lead and manage complex projects related to accounting system development, upgrades, and process improvements.
• Coordinate activities across multiple program areas and state agencies.
• Conduct special projects focused on researching, developing, and implementing new or enhanced accounting systems and processes.
• Ensure the integrity and reliability of financial processes through policy development and system oversight.
