General Definition of Work
Delivers meals to home-bound older adults who are unable to prepare a well-balanced meal. Performs manual work packing, loading, and delivering hot and cold meals.
Essential Functions
• Performs manual work packing, loading, and delivering hot and frozen meals prepared in the Commission on Aging Kitchen.
• Delivers meals and other items in delivery van by following specified route. Deliveries may be to Senior Centers for congregate meals or to designated addresses for home delivered meals programs.
• Unloads food at centers, transfers hot food pans to steam tables and cold foods to refrigerator.
• Returns equipment to central kitchen.
• Routinely performs safety inspection, checks oil and other fluid levels, and obtains service as scheduled or needed. Maintains records of mileage, gasoline use, and services.
• Assists in stocking and cleaning central kitchen, including dishwashing and custodial duties.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience:
• Must possess a valid/current State of Michigan driver's license.
• Acceptable driving record per County policy.
