What You'll Do
Lead the development and implementation of advanced control algorithms for ultra-precision mechatronic systems.
Architect and tune feedback and feedforward controllers for custom actuators, including magnetic, piezoelectric, and air-bearing platforms.
Analyze system dynamics and performance, applying model-based control techniques to maximize throughput, stability, and accuracy.
Collaborate cross-functionally with actuator designers, mechanical engineers, software developers, and optics teams to integrate control solutions.
Support error budgeting, requirements definition, and design reviews with a focus on control system performance.
Document control strategies, tuning procedures, and experimental results for multi-site engineering teams.
What You Bring
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with custom actuator design and integration in high-performance mechatronics systems.
Strong foundation in control theory, system identification, and dynamic modeling.
Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink or Python for control algorithm development, simulation, and data analysis.
Experience with advanced control techniques (e.g., robust, adaptive, optimal, or nonlinear control).
Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop testing and real-time control implementation.
Enjoy working collaboratively and delivering high-quality results in fast-paced environments.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as dictated by business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Background in high-precision motion systems, machine dynamics, or semiconductor equipment.
Experience integrating custom actuators and control algorithms into complex mechatronic platforms.
Strong analytical skills coupled with a passion for hands-on experimentation and troubleshooting.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years
Base Pay Range: $97,000.00 - $164,900.00
