This is a regular, full-time, tenure-track position. Assignment is a 166-day schedule of 16 -18 contact hours per semester. Work may require day and evening hours at various locations including the Regional Manufacturing Technology Center (RMTC) in Battle Creek and the Eastern Academic Center (EAC) in Albion during the fall and spring semesters with an expectation of regular campus presence. Potential for teaching summer courses also exists. This position may work at least two evenings a week during the fall and spring semesters.

The lead instructor in Computer-Aided Drafting & Design (CADD) Technology is responsible for delivering effective instruction aligned with industry standards while providing academic leadership and coordination for the CADD program in support of the mission, vision, and values of the College.
This position includes teaching, curriculum development, student advising, assessment, participation in shared governance, and coordination of program operations within the scope of faculty responsibilities. The faculty member works collaboratively with colleagues, administration, and industry partners to ensure the CADD program remains current, rigorous, and responsive to workforce needs.
Kellogg Community College is located in Battle Creek, Michigan, a community of approximately 54,000 people. Leisure activities, natural resources and learning opportunities provide a foundation for residents. Located along the I-94 interstate, Battle Creek is within 30 minutes of Kalamazoo, 60 minutes of Lansing and Grand Rapids and within three hours of Detroit, Chicago and Indianapolis.
Physical Demands
The job responsibilities are performed in an office area, classrooms, instructional laboratory environments, and presentation venues. Travel by car required. The job has intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as independent mobility between work areas, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward (8 - 45 pounds). Typically requires regular use of one or more physical senses of medium intensity and long duration. Must meet reasonable deadlines, quotas or demands for accuracy, and may be involved in some mildly unpleasant situations.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering Graphics, Drafting Technology or Computer-Aided Design or related fieldOR Associate degree in Engineering Graphics, Drafting Technology or Computer-Aided Design plus three or more (3+) years of non-teaching related work experience. Educational attainment must be from an accredited college or university - at the time of application, attach unofficial transcripts showing completed coursework and degree conferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of recent work experience in the field.
• Working, hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook) and other software applications for the PC.
• Teaching/instruction experience to include instructional design and use of instructional technologies.
• Experience working with diverse populations of student learners.
• Demonstrated commitment to personal professional development.
• Ability and means to travel among regional work sites and other locations.
Preferred but not Required
• Teaching experience at the community college, university or corporate level.
• Demonstrated experience in Program Development in CADD/CAM.
Proposed Salary
