Main duties
General Description:
- Responsible for all Health and Safety related issues: Comply with MIOSHA, MDEQ, Homeland Security and Corporate requirements. Utilizing the Environmental Coordinator
Exemplary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Hands on Manager – Documentation, Implementation and training of programs
- Overall development and management of the Health and Safety programs.
- Establish and maintain the process safety management programs for chlorine, methyltrichlorosilane (MTS) and Dimethylchlorosilane (DMDS), ensure this is integrated into Mersen – Preventive Maintenance program.
- Maintain Mersen’s – Dupont STOP behavioral based safety program.
- Track and investigate near-miss incidents and promote their reporting.
- Provide and schedule necessary medical surveillance programs.
- Coordinate / lead special safety initiatives.
- Organize and maintain safety and health related records including MIOSHA and DEQ recordkeeping requirements.
- Develop and maintain – KPI’s that will drive a successful Safety Program
- Develop, organize and schedule education and training on topics related to industrial hygiene and occupational health
- Develop and complete Annual Prevention Plan. (APP)
- Understand and keep current with safety and health standards and regulations.
- Provide corporate with requested information including accident investigation, cause tree analysis, risk analysis, progress notes, and program development. Promote Bay City
- Lead the health and safety committee; coach supervisors and managers on incident investigations, and safety audits.
- Provide regulatory guidance to personnel to ensure consistent regulatory compliance and use of best practices to manage the safety risks to people and property.
- Establish strategies for risk management, monitoring employee exposure, and the selection and use of personal protective equipment.
- Responsible for Homeland Security Program. Utilizing the Environmental Coordinator
- Maintain compliance to ISO14001 certification. Utilizing the Environmental Coordinator
Minimum Qualifications:
- Required Bachelor’s Degree, or Associates with at least 3 - 5 years experience in the environmental and safety field.
