Talascend is currently seeking a Material Control Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Livonia, Michigan.
Overview
The Material Control Technician will be responsible for picking automotive parts and getting them ready to move to the shop floor. This position requires processing the material moves in an ERP system and providing support to move freight in and out of trucks and around the warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Picking automotive parts and getting them ready to move to the shop floor
- Processing material moves in an ERP system
- Providing support to move freight in and out of trucks and around the warehouse
- Driving a Hi-Lo as required
- Picking, pulling and systematically processing materials
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of material control experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
- Experience managing inventory using a computer and making transactions
- Ability to drive a Hi-Lo and pass internal training course
- Experience recording/tracking inventory in an ERP system
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Excellent data entry and computer skills
- Good written and verbal skills
- Accurate cycle count/inventory experience
- Experience with receiving and distributing parts in a warehouse or production operation
- Detail oriented with excellent organization skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Clean, organize, remove packing dunnage, and keep work area clean
- Good customer service, reliable attendance, and ability to work overtime
- Ability to obtain or qualify for an industrial truck license
- Ability to read, count and communicate inventory data both written and verbal, follow directions, learn new skills and technologies and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel)
