Position Overview
Members First Credit Union is seeking a VP Marketing to collaborate with the executive team to grow the credit union and strengthen overall market position. This role serves as a strategic leader responsible for marketing, community impact, brand governance, public relations, and grant strategy. The position is highly visible in the community and requires weekend, evening hours, and travel.
The primary purpose of this position is to assist Members First Credit Union in delivering on its mission, vision, and brand promise by living out core values in every service contact and fostering purpose, belonging, and impact throughout the organization.
Essential Duties

Provide strategic leadership for marketing, brand, community impact, and public relations initiatives.

Develop and execute long and short-term marketing plans aligned with the credit union strategic plan.

Lead marketing teams to achieve portfolio performance, revenue, and growth objectives.

Utilize data intelligence to drive new member acquisition, digital engagement, and loan growth.

Serve as expert resource in member, market, and industry research.

Represent the credit union in the community to strengthen relationships and advance initiatives.

Maintain brand governance standards including messaging, visuals, and logo guidelines.

Deliver on the Credit Union’s promise in every service situation.

Successfully obtain Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) designation within first year of service.
Duties and Responsibilities

Create and manage comprehensive marketing strategy using analytics, ROI modeling, and predictive insights.

Develop annual marketing budget to maximize return on investment.

Lead integrated campaigns that increase brand awareness and demand across channels.

Provide competitive and market insights to executive leadership.

Oversee Community Impact initiatives aligned with Education, Housing, and Well-Being pillars.

Direct major community programs including Swinging for Scholarships and Joy in Teaching Grants.

Ensure all community investments are strategic, measurable, and mission-aligned.

Lead grant funding strategy including identification, proposal development, compliance, reporting, and governance.

Provide quarterly updates to senior leadership and Board regarding funding progress and impact outcomes.

Collaborate cross-functionally with Data Intelligence, Finance, Strategic Development, and Community Impact teams.

Lead development and enhancement of products and services in partnership with executive leadership.

Prepare and present at Board meetings and internal committees.

Maintain vendor relationships and oversee system or product launches.

Ensure regulatory compliance and risk control within department operations.

Lead internal and external audit interface for marketing and related functions.

Align departmental goals with credit union strategic plan.

Lead succession planning, coaching, and performance development for department staff.

Support onboarding, training, and culture alignment of team members.

Lead special projects and enterprise initiatives related to marketing and member communication.

Education and Experience

Eight to ten years similar or related experience.

Minimum five years leadership experience.

Bachelor’s degree required.
