Position Summary(Basic Job Function)
This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.
Unit Position Summary
Assist graduate students and faculty in various field and laboratory tasks. Field work comprises sampling for ticks;
characterizing vegetation; monitoring wildlife trail camera; database maintenance. Lab work comprises tick
identification; DNA extractions; quantitative PCR; database maintenance. Required qualifications include: B.S. in
biological science; experience with identifying ticks and conducting DNA extractions and quantitative PCR; MI
drivers license and record of safe driving.
Desired Qualifications
Ability to teach others how to identify
ticks and conduct molecular diagnostis.

Work Hours
Generally standard hours (8-5) but field work may require some after-5 pm hours depending on the weather and work needed to be accomplished.
