HTC Global Services, Inc. has an opening for the position of Jr. Developer (Ref# JRD223APM).
Work Location: Troy, MI and relocation required to various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.
Job Duties: Under direct supervision, develop and integrate IT solutions by using appropriate development methodologies and standards. Develop innovative software solutions using Guidewire PolicyCenter and collaborate effectively in team environments. Analyze, design, develop, and deploy applications using Guidewire PolicyCenter, Gosu, Java/J2EE, XML, HTML, JUnit, and SOAP/RESTful web services. Identify sequencing of services and technologies that are integrated in later phases of the project. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Create conceptual and detailed technical design documents using flowcharts and sequence diagrams and work with the business to update as needed. Develop in-detail technical specifications for application software to be performed by the development team. Review design ideas and prototypes with product owners and development team. Review the technical design specifications and code new or modify existing programs as per the design requirements. Facilitate requirement discussions and provide valuable insights to Business Analysts for the development of requirements analysis documents in Guidewire PolicyCenter. Design and develop PolicyCenter implementations with Guidewire coding standard, maintaining Gosu/Java language application code by working on enhancements and defects identified in production. Assist peer developers in implementing additional functionalities in the Guidewire PolicyCenter application. Develop and implement RESTful APIs using Spring Boot framework to optimize communication and data exchange among different components of the PolicyCenter application. Design test procedures to evaluate each software product. Develop unit test and integration test suites using industry standard frameworks. Participate in application support activities including incident management and assessment and delivery of application upgrades and patches. Participate in mitigation and control activities as well as identifying and evaluating risks. Review design documentation for all levels of the software development process. Participate in code reviews to uphold coding standards, resulting in enhanced code quality. Effectively communicate the progress in Agile Scrum calls, preparing Gosu scripts to correct the inaccurate data in the production systems, designing and implementing solutions. Use of Guidewire PolicyCenter, Gosu, Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, Git, Kubernetes, Docker, Dynatrace, SQL, AWS, and Windows.
Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field. Plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation including Programmer Analyst, Software Associate, or related experience. Position requires 2 years of experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter, Gosu, Java, Git, and SQL. 40hrs/week.
