Position Overview
The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a critical role in supporting providers by collecting accurate patient information and ensuring efficient clinical operations. As a key member of the Care Team, you will help deliver an exceptional patient experience while supporting quality-driven healthcare outcomes.
Medical Assistants report to the Practice Manager or Center Operations Specialist and collaborate closely with providers and interdisciplinary team members.
Key Responsibilities

Facilitate efficient patient flow and room patients promptly

Record vital signs and complete required health screenings

Conduct medication reconciliation
-
Perform point-of-care testing (A1C, spirometry, EKGs, blood draws, etc.)

Administer vaccinations (per state regulations)

Maintain exam room inventory and supplies

Upload and manage documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

Process durable medical equipment (DME) orders
-
Request and manage external medical records

Provide telephonic patient support (lab results, record transfers, etc.)

Conduct routine quality control and infection control checks

Participate in care team meetings

Support overall clinic operations
Required Qualifications
-
State or national Medical Assistant certification (as required by Michigan law) OR graduation from an accredited MA program

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant

CPR or BLS Certification

Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience

Strong computer skills (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, etc.)

U.S. work authorization
Preferred Qualifications

2–3+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant

Experience working with geriatric patients

Phlebotomy Technician Certification

Multilingual abilities (based on community demographics)

Demonstrated ability to manage workflow independently

Compensation
Hourly Pay Range: $18.50 – $35.29 per hour
Actual compensation is determined by experience, education, geographic location, and internal equity. This role may also be eligible for performance bonuses or incentive programs.
