The Position
Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, the Swim Instructor is responsible for the high-quality lessons and participant engagement. This individual must maintain high personal standards and adhere to and carry out the Values and Purpose of Greater Midland.
Major Job Responsibilities
- Maintain vigilant supervision of participants, ensure water safety rules are followed, and model safe behaviors.
- Ensure high quality programs that are results-based driven, with proper planning and engaging lesson plans.
- Administer data collection of participants and progress reporting throughout the program.
- Work cooperatively and professionally with all program participants, parents, Greater Midland Staff and Volunteers.
- Ensure that character development is present in all programs (caring, honesty, respect, responsibility).
- Complete, in a timely manner, all requests from supervisor in the achievements of department and center goals/objectives.
- Consistently demonstrates leadership behaviors aligned with Greater Midland’s values.
Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Exemplify passion for aquatic safety and swim skill development
- Experience working with youth (Preferred)
- Experience in an aquatic setting (Preferred)
- Excellent people skills; ability to work with a wide variety of personalities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Hourly wage of $13.73 - $14.25 per hour
Schedule
- Monday and Tuesday 4:30pm-7pm
