Job Title: Summer Recreation Counselor
Rate of Pay: $13.73 per hour
13 seasonal positions available with part-time, variable hours. No benefits other than as provided for under Earned Sick Time Act (ESTA).

General Summary:
Under the supervision of the Summer Recreation Supervisor, the counselor will perform a variety of supportive services for the Bay County Community Center Recreation Program. Counselors will oversee a group of children ages 5-12, play games, take campers on field trips and swim in the pool. Will assist with breakfast and lunch distribution, attend certification for meal site. Knowledge of basic first aid. CPR certified preferred, but not required.
Essential functions:
1. Oversee, monitor and engage with children in the program, supervise children on field trips and at the pool, ensure safety protocols are followed.
2. Provide outstanding customer service.
3. Able to interact well with adults and children.
4. Work well with staff.
5. Attend training for meal site and counselor duties.
6. Good organizational skills.
7. Punctual and consistent attendance essential.
8. Maintain a clean, safe environment for campers.
9. Clean bathrooms, classrooms, small gym and large gym, lobby area.
10. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Experience in the following areas: Able to work well with staff, good communication, good organizational skills. Knowledge of basic first aid. CPR certification preferred, but not required. Able to follow directives from Summer Recreation Supervisor. Must be at least 15 years old. Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
