Job Description
Summary
Sets up, adjusts, and operates various sizes of manual vertical Knee-mills to bore/drill holes to print tolerances, face mill, groove, recess, taper, drill and tap etc. on a variety of standard / non-standard work pieces where skill is required to maintain tolerances on related dimensions. Set ups involve some blocking, aligning, and securing of work pieces having irregular shapes.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Load and unload parts manually or by rigging and using overhead lifting devices.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
• Positions and secures workpiece on table with bolts, jigs, clamps, shims, or other holding devices.
• Select the appropriate tools for machining parts, drills, taps, end mills, boring cutters…etc.
• Perform manual machining operations, follow standard operating procedures.
• Verifies conformance of machined work to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and fixed and telescoping gauges.
• Perform CILR tasks to maintain the area.
• Report daily production achieved.
• Report Non-Conformances."
