Job Summary
The Drivetrain Fulfillment Specialist is responsible for the safe, accurate, and high-quality fulfillment of engine and transmission orders. This role involves locating, retrieving, preparing, inspecting, and loading drivetrains using forklifts and other heavy machinery. Responsibilities include de-wiring, draining, cleaning, power washing, and performing extensive quality control inspections to ensure all engines and transmissions meet Holbrook’s standards prior to customer pickup or shipment.
Key Responsibilities
· Locate and pull all sold engines and transmissions from yard, warehouse, and storage locations using forklifts and heavy machinery
· Accurately retrieve drivetrains based on work orders and staging requirements
· De-wire drivetrains, including removal of wiring harnesses, sensors, and related components
· Properly drain all fluids (oil, coolant, transmission fluid, etc.) in compliance with safety and environmental standards
· Power wash engines and transmissions to remove grease, dirt, and debris
· Perform extensive quality control inspections, including:
· Identifying cracks, broken mounts, damaged sensors, or missing components
· Inspecting engine blocks, cylinder heads, oil pans, valve covers, bellhousing areas, and accessory mounting points
· Verifying completeness and overall condition of engine and transmission assemblies
· Document and communicate any damage, missing components, or discrepancies prior to shipment or customer release
· Operate forklifts and other heavy machinery to move, stage, and store drivetrains safely
· Load sold engines and transmissions into customer vehicles, company trucks, and freight carriers securely
· Properly package, strap, and palletize drivetrains to prevent damage during transport
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe drivetrain and warehouse work area
· Follow all safety procedures and equipment operation standards
· Assist with drivetrain inventory organization and storage as needed
Required Qualifications
· Strong automotive parts knowledge, specifically engines and transmissions
· Hands-on mechanical experience with drivetrain components
· Ability to identify damage, wear, and missing parts on engines and transmissions
· Experience operating forklifts or heavy machinery (certification preferred or willingness to obtain)
· Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
· Must be able to work in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, heat, and cold
· High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality control and accuracy
· Ability to follow written instructions, safety procedures, and operational guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in automotive recycling, salvage yards, or drivetrain fulfillment
· Familiarity with VIN decoding and drivetrain identification
· Forklift certification
