Job Summary:
The Heat Treat Operator is responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining heat treatment systems to ensure parts meet required mechanical and quality standards. This role plays a critical part in supporting production efficiency, safety, and product excellence.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and operate heat treat equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Inspect equipment conditions and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with laboratory personnel on mechanical and hardness testing
- Segregate and prepare racks for re-heat treatment as required
- Respond to and troubleshoot system alarms
- Perform routine equipment inspections and checks
- Load and unload parts into the heat treat system
- Operate straightening equipment as needed
- Report unsafe conditions or equipment issues to supervision
- Complete SPC surveys and generate reports
- Scan parts into the TAI system and prepare appropriate tags for FPI processing
- Escalate quality or process issues using appropriate procedures
- Participate in training programs and technical development activities
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
Academic Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous manufacturing or heat treat experience preferred
- Forklift experience or willingness to obtain certification

- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Effective communication and listening skills
- Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with minimal supervision
- Regular exposure to noise, heavy machinery, and sharp tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Stand and walk for 70%-80% of the workday
- Frequent bending, crouching, twisting, and reaching in the straightener section of the heat treat system
- Work in areas with moving equipment and mechanical components
- No travel required
- Willingness to learn new systems and processes
