Quality Control (QC) Specialist
Job Summary
Support one or more project teams in the development and implementation of Quality Control (QC) processes in the manufacturing plants. Ensure that quality KPIs are clearly communicated, measured, and supported by data to achieve superior customer satisfaction. Promote a “Zero Defect” mindset across all activities involving suppliers, manufacturing, and customer relationships.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to Plant QC Supervisor

Act as the quality interface for Manufacturing Leaders and Production Supervisors.

Perform QC inspections of production processes and products at the plant and customer sites.

Organize routine data collection, analysis, and feedback.

Report non-conforming products or processes to immediate supervision.

Develop and improve quality control checklists.

Monitor and ensure closure of open issues and non-conformances.

Drive continuous improvement of standards and adherence on the shop floor.

Measure and track departmental performance metrics.

Conduct area-specific analysis and assessments for QC implementation.

Align the QC department’s vision with the plant’s strategic goals.

Coach supervisors and hourly personnel in QC procedures and requirements.

Document current and future states, stretch objectives, and QC performance targets.

Implement and demonstrate Quality KPIs to supervisors and hourly employees.

Perform in-process inspections, including IBOs, torque audits, visual walks, and buy-offs.

Participate in Internal Buy-Offs (IBO) on products such as standard products, Power Roll beds, or tooling/fixture issues.
Knowledge and Skills

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work at all organizational levels, from shop-floor to management.

Familiarity with APQP and the process/product development cycle.

Experienced in cross-functional collaboration to maintain quality as the top program deliverable.

Strong understanding of Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and customer satisfaction priorities.

Knowledge of Non-conforming Material Reporting (NCMR) processes.
